The capital of Spain is Madrid. It's also the largest city in Spain. It's population is roughly 3.3 million people. It is the third largest in the European Union after London and Berlin. The city spans a total of233.3 square miles.
The total population total in SPain is 47.27 million people. A very interesting place to visit is the Royal Palace of Madrid. The royal family of Spain does not reside in this palace, instead they live in a more modest location; Palacio de la Zarzuela. Palace of the Zarzuela is what it means. Even though no one lives in this palace, there is still a great purpose of this palace. States meet in the palace to discuss economic concerns and discuss any strengths and weaknesses occuring in many parts of Spain. Another great place to visit is Toledo. It's full of ancient architecture and history that dates back to the Roman Empire. It was Spain's capital until the 16th century.
Bordering countries of spain are: France, Portugal, Gibraltar, Morocco.
A great reason you should visit our country is because of our history and recreational preferences. In 1500, a number of different kingdoms came together and formed Spain. In 1812, our government became a monarchy. Then in 1978, we changed our governmental system to a democratic constitution. The Visigoth Kingdom conquered all of Hispania for 8 centuries then fell apart, the ones that conquered Hispania there after were Muslims from Iberia.
Some of our Recreational Preferences are: Sports, Swimming, Dancing and Drawing. Not everyone in Spain does all of these. Some people are more interested in Knitting; our country is famous for it's Art & Music.

Perched on a mountain top in central Spain, Toledo served as the Capital of Spain until the 16th century. Because it was inhabited by Jews, Christians, and Muslims for many centuries, the city is sometimes called "The City of 3 Cultures". Today, Toledo is a popular for it's wealth of historic art and it's architecture that dates back to the Roman Empire.
