Pine Class News Update

On Monday we went on a "Bear Hunt" all around the school while reading a book and acting it out. We pretended it was cold any snowy. We pretended there was mud and we brushed off our shoes. We now have bags of books and they each have three books in them. That way we can keep track of our books. Today we switched books except some people wanted to keep them. Paul wrote our names on the bags. We have been sorting and counting in math. We have been counting by tens. We were counting popsicle sticks in the community room. We were also counting linking cubes and wooden cubes in groups of ten. When we were making groups of ten we decided to use little baggies and then we put them in the big bag. On Thursday we had recess inside because it was raining outside. We played with the linking cubes and the pattern blocks. We had fun the whole week and we hope you like our newsletter. Bye, Pine families!

We like playing in the dramatic play area. We made a tent out of blocks and covers. We were faking that we were a family. Some of us played with Ninja Turtles from home. They were doing tricks.
We do independent reading "back to back". We do partner reading "hip to hip". We also do partner reading "face to face". We did "echo reading" which means the other person read and you read it again. We did "choral reading" which means we both read at the same time.
We had fun doing math and some of us went to the community room and counted sticks into tens.
We went to the community gathering and it was fun. We sang a lot.
We are making books about ourselves. We are making pictures in our books so that you can look at the picture and read the words on the bottom.
We had fun for the whole week! We love school!
