Attention 8th-Graders and Parents of 8th-Graders: Nervous About High School?

A tad nervous about high school? I can help! My name is Angela Cefarelli, and I am a Capstone student at Mark T. Sheehan High School. For my project, I wanted to help middle school students transition into high school by running a lunch group for eighth-grade students to explore their questions, curiosities, and anxieties over coming to high school. I will be conducting four sessions that will engage students through creative activities and open communication. These students will be able to express their thoughts, ask questions, and collectively communicate with each other and visiting high school juniors.

If you are interested in signing up your child for this program, you may contact Mrs. Funaro at If you are interested, please sign-up quickly as spaces will be limited to the first 20 students.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at my school email Thank you in advance for your participation and support. I look forward to working with your children and am excited to hear all of their thoughts.

In Danger of Failing Letters

Once the second trimester ended, trimester one and trimester two grades were averaged together and In Danger of Failure letters were mailed home to students who may be in jeopardy of summer school or retention if grades are not improved for the final trimester. Counselors continue to meet with students and work with them on strategies for improvement.
