Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Heritage and Mental Health Awareness Month
"One of the ways we can celebrate APIDA heritage month is by learning something new about this diverse collection of people and communities. If you haven’t seen the docuseries on PBS called “Asian Americans”, I highly recommend it."
May is also Mental Health Awareness Month. We hope you can dive in, learn something new, and find new ways to enhance your own well being. If you notice yourself feeling down or out of sorts, find a friend - or a Campus Minister - to talk to. We're here for you! Scroll down to the "Around Campus" section of this newsletter to find out many different ways to learn more and make space to take care of yourself...

Receive Her in the Lord: A Synodal Thematic Forum on Women in the Church
During the listening stage of the current global Synod last year, the issue of “rethinking women’s participation” emerged as critical and urgent across nearly every report submitted to the Vatican. Join Catholics from across Western Washington on May 6 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. for Receive Her in the Lord, a synodal thematic forum on women’s participation in the Church. At this gathering—which will include opportunities for prayer, relationship building, reflection, and synodal discernment—we will reflect together on the fruits of the first phase of the global synod and explore where the Holy Spirit is calling us as Catholics in Western Washington to move on the theme of women in the Church. Register online at https://bit.ly/receiveher.
(P.S. This event is not just for women! Women’s participation in the life of the Church impacts all of the people of God; all are welcome at this event.)
Megan Kush, Campus Minister, will accompany the students, staff, and faculty who wish to attend this event. Email Megan at kushmegan@seattleu.edu, and let her know you plan to go!
