March Date Added for SD 308 Kindergarten Registration
Oswego Community Unit School District 308 has added an additional day for kindergarten registration for the 2019-20 school year.
Parents who have not yet registered incoming kindergarten students may
do so on Tuesday, March 19 from 9am-1pm and again 4pm-7pm, no
appointment necessary. Registration will be held at the Central Registration office
in the District Administration Center at 4175 State Route 71 in Oswego. Students
must be five years old by September 1, 2019 in order to begin kindergarten in
August.
Packets are available on the district website at www.sd308.org , and at every
elementary school and the district office. When coming to registration the child’s
parent or legal guardian must provide the student’s original birth certificate, the
parent/guardian photo ID, and three proofs of residency from the past 60 days
(examples: utility bills, a lease, property tax bill, mortgage statement, deed).
Medical requirements for kindergarten, not needed at the time of registration,
include; a physical due by the first day of school, a vision screening due by October
15, and a dental exam due by May 15, 2020. Questions can be directed to the
schools or the central registration office at 630.636.2404.

Cold Weather reminder - Recess
Now that the cold weather and snow are upon us please remember that while we won't have outdoor recess on days when the real feel is ten degrees or below, please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the cold weather including layers/snow pants if necessary, a winter coat, hats, gloves, and boots. As a reminder, students who do not have snow pants on outdoor recess days are not allowed in the snow.
Gym Shoe Reminder
We realize it is a little tricky this year to remember what days P.E. are because of the A,B,C,D,E schedule. Therefore, it is recommended that a pair of gym shoes are left at school so your child is always prepared. Please be sure the shoes have laces or Velcro.
Thank you,
