Glenholme School Newsletter

Week 4, 11th November 2021

Big picture

Kia ora,

As we move closer to the date when all teachers, teacher aides, principals, administration staff and caretakers are required to be vaccinated to comply with the Public Health Order, I can assure you that all of our staff meet the requirement of the mandate.

The requirement to be vaccinated is also for those people working for the school and this includes unpaid work such as volunteering. Any parents or caregivers who volunteer and are regularly in the school when the students are present will be required to be vaccinated. This is also the case if you are volunteering for any trips and camps outside the school.

Adults who are attending preschool classes with their preschoolers from the 16th November will also need to be vaccinated.

Whanau are able to drop off or pick up their tamariki outside the school. We ask that you also meet the requirements of the mandate.

We will continue to have health and safety systems in place to keep our school as safe as possible for your tamariki:

From 16th November at Alert Level 2 we will:

  • ensure that large events and activities involving the whole school do not take place such as sports events, assembly and whole school prize givings.

  • ask that parents and caregivers to wear a face covering (this is an expectation for all alert levels when people are out and about)

  • staff may also prefer to wear a face covering

  • encourage physical distancing of two metres where practicable

  • ask parents and caregivers to meet with teachers outside the classroom if possible

  • we will ensure hand sanitiser is available indoors

  • encourage anyone who is not feeling well should not come onto the school site and we encourage you to seek advice about getting tested.

Pre Enrolments

Five Year Old New Entrant Pre–Enrolments Glenholme School welcomes new arrivals to the school. Parents of students who live within the home zone and intend enrolling their child at any time during the year should notify the school to assist the school to plan appropriately for the next terms. We would like to encourage parents to contact Mrs Molly Norton (Deputy Principal) to confirm future student enrolments. To help determine future classroom placements, it is vital that the school has as much information as possible about future students. Enrolment forms are available at the school office or you can contact Mrs Norton Deputy Principal 348-1489 ext 203 or email Glenholme School.
