Well Done to our Cricket Champs!
We're celebrating sporting success at Zones yet again this week, with both the Boys' and Girls' Cricket teams each taking 1st place!
I'd like to congratulate all the players on another outstanding success, with thanks to Karen Moore, our Sports Coordinator, along with Lauren Davies (and Max!), who were there to help manage the teams on the day.
Key Dates
Looking ahead to the final week of term, please note we finish at the usual time of 3pm on Thursday, April 6 (due to Good Friday).
A reminder also that, due to a Term 2 Ministry of Education Teacher Only Day on Monday, 24 April, classes resume Wednesday, 26 April.
Term 2 Staffing Update
Next week also marks a departure for some valued staff members, including Brianna Sivewright (Y6) and Jessalyn Jordan (Y4), both of whom are relocating to pursue opportunities overseas. Both Brianna and Jessalyn have been invaluable members of our teaching team, and I know the children are as sad to see them go as we are. We all wish them well in their new ventures!
Jessica Heath, who many of you may know from her role as our English Second Language (ESOL) teacher, will also be moving on at the end of this term for family reasons. I'm sure all those she has supported with their development of English will want to pass on their appreciation for her specialised work, and I'd like to acknowledge the unique contribution she has made to our learning community.
Finally, Martina Stevenson, a long-serving MENPS staff member (most recently lending her considerable expertise in a post-COVID Curriculum Coordinator role), embarks on her maternity leave, along with Gabby Bilkey, former team leader and release teacher this term. They will both be greatly missed, but we'll be looking forward to meeting the new arrivals soon!
Also on the topic of new arrivals (of a slightly different kind), joining us next term will be Rhys Landon-Lane (Y4), and Alvaro Fuente (Y6). We're looking forward to welcoming them both to the MENPS teaching team next term, and I know everyone will join me in supporting them as they settle in to their new roles.
