Principal's Message
Dear Families,
It felt great to be back at school this week spending quality time with the students. I personally thank Ms. Williams for taking on the role as the lead building administrator while I was away last week. Some of the joys and excitement this week included stories about winter and watching students learn about expanded notation in mathematics. This past Thursday, our student advisory members met with me in the library to talk about some new ideas they would like for school improvement. I continue to be fascinated by the participation of our youngest students and the amazing ideas they come up with regarding school improvements. We will begin by having a "lucky" tray at lunch. This "lucky" tray will make an appearance at each grade level, weekly. (This was voted on by our student advisory members.). Watching the excitement in their eyes makes it very challenging to refuse. We will also have a stuffed animal "hawk" that will be moving from class to class each week. We have not yet finalized the process for this. Stay tuned!
This newsletter is pleasantly brief. However, the next newsletter should have more fun and upcoming events. As always, thank you for your continuous support for Haynes.
Sincerely,
Nadine Ekstrom, Ph.D.
Interim Principal
