SPIRIT WEEK 10/24-10-28

Click the link below to see our themes for Halloween Spirit Week.

Students are welcomed and encouraged to celebrate the season by wearing Halloween costumes throughout the day on Friday, 10/28. The Main Office team continues to challenge grade-level teachers to beat us in our themed costumes, but they have yet to do it! Student groups are encouraged to test their creativity, too! The day will end in a schoolwide, PTO-sponsored, Halloween Classroom Party.

Costumes must not disrupt the learning environment, should be comfortable enough to be worn all day, and meet the following guidelines:

  • Students' faces cannot be covered fully with masks, make-up, hats, sunglasses, etc.

  • Costume blood should not be used in any way.

  • Costumes must be in good taste and still follow the no-tight legging/jegging/ yoga pants rules without a long top.

  • Costumes may not reference or include alcohol, drugs, weapons (including fake or toy weapons) or be discriminatory to any group.

Administrative discretion prevails in all situations.

SPIRIT WEEK

Themes for every day next week!

Parent University Presentations

The second “Parent University,” topics relevant to CMS and CLSD families, took place this past week . The first topic, “School Tech - What the Heck,” was presented by the CMS Technology Team of Mrs. Diehm, Mrs. Holub and Mrs. Scrheffler. The second topic, “Internet Safety,” featured Mr. Richard Warner from the Geauga County Prosecutors Office, Mr. Jason Elam, CLSD SRO and Mr. Adam Tomco, CMS Principal. A big thank you to G-TV for recording the two presentations for parents to view who were unable to attend. Click the links below to watch the presentations.

4th Grade CogAT

4th graders will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) during the week of November 7-11, 2022. The Ohio-required whole-grade testing screens all students for potential gifted identification in Superior Cognitive Ability and Creative Thinking Ability, and it also provides information about students' instruction strengths and needs. Following the screening, individual student results will be sent home with your child. If you have questions about the assessment, contact megan.kinney@chardonschools.org.
