News from this week
Dear Parents,
Thank you so much to all of the parents who were able to join me for Curriculum Night! I know that if we work together all of the students will have a successful year. If you were unable to attend, please complete and sign the forms that are located in the paper folder. There is a note on the folder about which forms they are. Please send these back as soon as possible. All other papers are for you to keep.
Also, here is a link to my presentation for those who missed it: https://tinyurl.com/ya3kexxs
As I mentioned last night, I will begin Morning Math sessions starting Tuesday, September 10th at 7:15 AM. In these sessions I will provide extra help on our current math topics, as well as review past topics. You do not need to sign up. Just drop your child off at the front doors at 7:15. You can drive right through the bus loop. The buses will not be there at that time. Please do NOT use the car rider lane on the side of the building. The front doors are open and there is someone at the front desk. Your child will say that they are there for Morning Math with Mrs. Stoffle. Please be sure not to drop off your child early as there is no one available to watch them. If I ever need to cancel on a Tuesday, I will send an email.
Your child has a small homework assignment to complete this weekend. We have started using Google Classroom today and they started our first assignment. It is called the Best Part of Me. They took a picture of their favorite part of themselves and they have to write a paragraph about why it is their favorite part. I would like them to finish it at home over the weekend because they need to activate their Google Classroom from their home computer or device. This will allow them to work on projects from home in the future.
We have a math daily grade the Tuesday we return. It will cover addition and subtraction of large numbers with regrouping. It will also have several word problems and some review problems. Please review with your child.
Our reading program has officially started and reading logs are due every Monday. Please make sure to sign your child's reading log every week or else it will not be counted. Also, if you decide to submit the reading log online, please send me an email by Monday morning (Tuesday this week). I do not get a list of online submissions, so I need to get the confirmation of submission from the parents.
Congratulations to Adelyn and Ammanuel, our Student Council Representatives. We know they will do a great job representing our class. All candidates did a great jog giving their speeches. I am proud of each of them.
If you would like to donate any treats to our class treasure box, you may send them in at any time. I usually have small things in there, such as candy, small toys, pens, etc. The treasure box is one of the treats students can purchase with their classroom money. If you have a question about any items you may want to send in, just send me an email.
Please refer to the important dates section below for some No Lunch Visitation dates due to Cogat and IOWA testing dates. Fourth grade is NOT testing, but we ask that you do not eat with your child during those dates due to schedule changes.
In the event of a Digital Learning day, please be on the lookout for an e-mail from me, or you can go directly to e-class.
Have a great long weekend!
Mrs. Stoffle
