Wayne Central Middle School Newsletter
Greetings!
Parent-Teacher Conferences: Next week on the 19th we have a half day for parent-teacher conferences. If you have not already done so and would like to schedule a conference, please reach out to your child's teachers. We want all parents to know we welcome the opportunity to meet and look forward to working together to ensure our students' success.
Tech Highlight: This year, as many of you may have heard, we are piloting Google Chromebooks in our 7th and 8th grade ELA and Social Studies classrooms as well as in one of our foreign language classrooms. If you are not familiar, Chromebooks are a "cloud-based" laptop with quick connectivity to Google Apps for Education, including Google Drive, Google Classroom and the Google platform. This is a free online platform which has begun to revolutionize the means and efficiency of feedback and collaboration within the classroom. Feel free to check with your son(s)/daughter(s) and ask them about it! Our students seem to be loving it and our teachers have done an amazing job making use of these tools. We look forward to seeing how this pilot will continue to enhance the learning process within these classrooms and consider next steps for implementation. It's exciting stuff!
We have a couple of important messages and dates below. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and a great week. Hopefully we see many of you on the 19th!
