Who is Samuel anyway?
Hi, I am Samuel Morse, the inventor of Morse Code. That would be me on the right. I was actually born in Charlestown, Massachusetts on April 27th, 1791. I'm an American Inventor and designer. Lastly, I graduated from Yale College.
What even is morse code?
Morse code is a system that represents the letters of the alphabet, numerals, and even punctuation marks! To represent these, a series of dashes, dots, and spaces are used. Above the alphabet in morse code is shown!
Wait, how does morse code work?
There are short and long elements to morse code. They can be shown by the dots and dashes using pulses of electricity. It's actually very cool if I don't say so myself.
Why should you learn today?
This is a more technological way of having long distance conversation with whomever you need to speak with. Since this allows long distance, you can easily conversate with friends and family from neighboring towns!
Fun facts about morse code
The very first message we sent out using my method was May 24th, 1844! The message read "What hath God Wrought". Turns out that very message traveled from Washington to Baltimore! Talk about long distance, am i right?
