Utopians Gone Bad

By Logan Nikoloff

A utopian society can not exist because someone will notice that it is unfair and because no one is perfect.

"He killed it" (Lowry 128).

In the Giver Jones waches his father kill an infint with a drug. This means that a utopian society can not exist because someone will noteces that it is unfair and because no one is perfect.

First, in the Giver

"Jones's father takes a needle with a clever tube of liquid and carefully took it out with the needle and injeted it into the baby's forehead" (Lowry 186).

This shows that the younger kids had to have shots but not only did they do this to the lightest twin but killed it because it was the lightest one.

Last, in the Maze Runner

"With a sickening, wet thunk, the dagger slammed into chuck's chest, burying its self to the hilt." (Maze runner 356)

This means that the world has not changed and is more of a dystopia then a utopia because theres still vilince.

In conclusion,

Utopians can only exist for a wile because someone will noteces what is going on. How could it be different? What if jones never left? What if he did not take the baby with him?
