UVM’s Pre-College and Summer Academy Programs
We have an exciting opportunity for Essex High School’s sophomores, juniors and seniors to represent UVM’s Pre-College or Summer Academy programs!
UVM’s Pre-College allows high school students to earn college credit in one or more courses alongside peers and undergraduates. The program offers entry-level online courses year-round in a variety of subject areas, and course credits are transferable within UVM and other institutions.
UVM’s Summer Academy is an academically challenging four-week online program for high school students who have completed 10th, 11th or 12th grade and are interested in exploring a specific field of study. The program affords high school students the opportunity to earn transferable credits, interact with peers from across the globe and, as the college application process becomes increasingly competitive, allows them to showcase their potential to higher education recruiters.
UVM is looking to hire highly motivated students who would be interested in serving as the face of one of these programs at Essex High School. Brand Ambassadors will share how Pre-College or Summer Academy works with their peers: how it helps students get ahead on their studies, can help students earn transferrable college credits, helps save money for their parent(s)/guardian(s), provides real-life campus experiences and prepares them for their futures in college.
Both Brand Ambassador programs will run for approximately ten weeks from February to April 2021, and students can expect to dedicate between two to four hours per week to the position.
STEM Advisory Project
The STEM advisories teamed up to make a giant Rube Goldberg machine during the month of December. Each of the advisories created a segment of the machine and it was all stitched together on video to create the final product.
