PK 4.4 Newsletter
Learning is a process that creates and inspires
Dear parents,
This week our children have been exposed to a variety of activities, stories and songs that help support our understanding of who works at our school. We discussed how we can help each other in our family and our school. We had a visitor from our school come in to our class to talk about their job and how they can help us. The children took the opportunity to make comments and ask the visitor questions.
We worked on describing shapes and spatial relationships by using geoboards, lids, and pattern blocks. In addition to this, we delve into measuring and comparing quantities as we cooked and used play sand. They had a great time exploring the materials, using them in different ways and observing the results.
In Literacy, the children used alphabet cards, foam and magnetic letters and to identify letters in their names. The also enjoyed listening to the Gingerbread man story and coming up with ideas of where he could run off to. Songs, rhymes and games were an important part of our daily routine as it gives us an opportunity to reinforce language development.
