Visit to the Goshen Town Hall

Mrs. Quinn's and Mrs. Carpenter's second-grade classes visited the Goshen Town Hall this morning. They toured the First Selectman's Office, the Town Clerk's Office, and The Land Use Office. Students learned all about the government of Goshen, discussed important documents kept in the Town Clerk's Office, and the important work happening in the Land Use Office. We loved all the different maps in the Land Use Office, but the students' favorite part was getting locked in the vault!

Thank you to Mr. Valentine, Mrs. Breor, and Mr. Connors

Summer Garden Maintenance

Over the next few weeks, GCS students will be readying the beds, sowing seeds and transplanting plants into the Garden of Life for this year’s growing season!

Through sustainable, organic practices the garden brings life-long, authentic learning into the lives of our students who work hard to collaboratively bring the garden to life. Throughout the summer, the delicious, nutritious produce is enjoyed by those in need at area soup kitchens and food banks and by families maintaining the garden. Upon arrival back to school in the fall, students enjoy the freshly picked produce and the GCS community is invited to join us at our Harvest Luncheon to enjoy the dishes each class freshly prepared.

The outreach, celebrations, and success of the garden would not be possible without the help of families maintaining the garden during the summer.

We are seeking families to sign-up for one week. (Consider sharing the week with another family!) If your family is able to help, please fill out this form.

Please continue to clip Box Tops off your favorite products! Ten cents doesn't sound like much but they add up fast and help the PTO provide Enrichment opportunities for GCS students. If possible, ask other family members, co-workers and neighbors to collect them as well. This is a quick reminder that at the end of each month the classroom that has collected the most Box Tops gets a prize. See the below attachment for a list of products that have Box Tops on their labels.

A big thank you to our BTFE coordinators, Heike Robillard and Chrissy Steward.

Thank you!
