In 1757 Arnold traveled upstate to battle the French. In 1764 Arnold formed a partnership with merchant Adam Babcock. The pair bought three trading ships and established trade connections with the West Indians.
Some of Arnold's family members died from yellow tail. Some poor businesses caused problems for Arnold's family. In 1767 Arnold's father died. In 1767 Arnold married Margaret Mansfield.
Benedict Arnold was famous for fighting the French during the American Revolutionary war.
