Findley Elementary School

Welcome Back Findley Families,

I can’t believe we are only three short days away from welcoming back our kiddos. Our teachers and staff have been busy getting the building and classrooms ready to welcome our learners next week. Findley is going to be a busy place this school year.

I am looking forward to a new year of teaching and learning. We are excited to continue building our students’ agency and curiosity through our Primary Years Program and Units of Inquiry. We will continue to teach our students how to be readers, writers and mathematicians using the responsive workshop model of instruction. Health will be a focus this year as we will begin teaching a more comprehensive health curriculum that promotes inclusivity for all students.

Additionally, I am excited to share that we will be opening our brand new Student Center this year! The Student Center will be a place where students can learn and practice strategies for regulating their emotions and bodies. Additionally, the Student Center will be a place where students can have their social and emotional needs met. Initial funding for the Student Center came as a gift from last year’s 5th grade class, we are very grateful.

You will hear more about all of this at Back to School Nights next week.

Looking forward to a GREAT year, Dragons,

Sherry Marsh, Ed.D.
