As you may know, the National Weather Service is calling for a 100% chance of heavy rain and winds for this Friday, November 11th, due to the remnants of Hurricane Nicole. This would severely impact the district-wide community Walk of Heroes event and the Tome Hero 5k. Due to the expected weather conditions, we have decided to move the Walk of Heroes event one day ahead to Thursday, November 10th. The time and place will remain the same: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM at Papermakers Stadium. Unfortunately, the Tome Hero 5k is canceled. Anyone who registered for the 5k will be refunded.
Moving the Walk of Heroes to Thursday, November 10th, to avoid the inclement weather will provide a more enjoyable and celebratory opportunity to honor our veterans and local police and emergency services personnel. We greatly appreciate your understanding and hope you will join us on Thursday!
