Happy New Year! I hope you had the chance to relax and enjoy time spent with family and friends over the holiday season. I spent some time reflecting on 2022 and anticipating all the opportunities and work ahead in 2023. I am honored to continue to serve as Interim-Principal for the remainder of the school year. 8th Grade Pathways Exploratory

We are looking forward to introducing our 8th Graders to the Pathways that will be available to them next year as high school students. A schedule has been created which will provide all 8th grade students the opportunity to explore each Pathway in its unique classroom environment and to meet new teachers during WIN! Block over the course of the month of January and into February.

NWEA MAP Growth Assessment

At the end of the month, students in grades 6 - 8 will take the 2nd of 3 MAP® Growth™ Assessments from NWEA.

MAP Growth tests are unique, and adapt to student's responses in order to best measure individual's skill level. If a student answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier. These results provide a complete picture of what each student knows and is ready to learn—whether it is on, above, or below their grade level. Each test (reading and math) takes about an hour. Since MAP Growth tests provide immediate and accurate information about student's learning, it’s easy for teachers to identify students with similar scores that are generally ready for instruction in similar skills and topics, and then plan instruction accordingly.
