STEM Academy Dress Code

The school’s dress code is established to prevent disruption, create an orderly environment, and minimize safety hazards.

Students who violate the dress code will be asked to correct it. If the violation cannot be corrected, the student shall be referred to the principal’s office. The final decision regarding a dress code violation is at the discretion of the campus principal. If the principal determines that a student is in violation of the dress code, the student will be given an opportunity to correct the problem at school. If not corrected, the student will be assigned to in-school suspension until the problem is corrected. Repeat offenses may result in more serious disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.

The one time fee for insurance on an iPad is $39 and a Chrome Book is $23.

The fashion Show postponed to Spring. We will be moving the fashion show to the second semester. Look for exciting new information in Spring.

The Street Dance is back on! All STEM families are invited to join us for a DI fundraiser on the NEW BLACKTOP! Entrance fee is $5. This is an event for the whole family! Meet other STEM families at the FIRST event under the new blacktop pavilion. Bring your folding chair and enjoy good company, good music and snacks for sale by PTO! See flyer for more information.

Elementary Updates

Dear Elementary Parents,

The year is in full swing. Our Elementary scholars have homework every day. Please check with your child to make sure they are completing their homework, classwork, and correcting any assignments per the teacher instruction. Each week, Elementary teachers update their grades in Ascender by 11:59 pm Sunday. The end of our grading period ends September 16th. Parent Portal allows parents to see their child's grades as well as to set thresholds for alerts. If you have trouble creating your account in Parent Portal, please contact us.

We are excited to host our annual picnic with grandparents/special guests this week. See the flyer for specific times and days to eat lunch with your loved one. After eating lunch, you will be able to visit the Book Fair in the Small MultiPurpose room in 102. We look forward to continuing our partnership with you this school year!

Secondary Updates

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our MS/HS students are off to a fantastic start to the '22-'23 school year. September is kicking off the fall season with many activities and rolls into a very busy semester. Please see the calendar at the top of this newsletter for dates and times.

This month will also kick off my monthly commitment to parent informational meetings. Our first meeting is scheduled for September 16 at 7am. I want to make sure and send a special invitation to start this off for all secondary parents. In order to plan refreshments I do ask that you please complete this survey. This first meeting is going to concentrate on the topic of data. What does your childs data say, how to read it, and how it impacts our campus. Ultimately how can this help the team of you, teachers, and me make better informed decisions about students.

Last but not least I do want to make sure everyone is aware of a couple of protocol changes this year. First, our team is working diligently to make sure our buildings are secure locations and proper entry procedures are followed. This means that all visitors must check in, in the front office prior to coming over to the Founders building. The second item is a change in how to reach our teachers on campus. All of our teachers (and myself) are now ECISD employees and utilize ECISD email addresses. The address follows this format: (ex: None of our teachers will be using the addresses any longer.
