We had a great first couple of days with our students! Teachers spent time reviewing expectations for both our school and their classrooms. Classes spent some time with community builders to create some wonderful learning environments. Learning, fun, and memories are ahead of us! Let's Go Chargers!!

SPIRIT WEAR

Some families have reached out to ask about spirit wear. There is a link on our school website where parents can purchase school spirit wear. Items are mailed directly to your home.

BREAKFAST

Every morning there is breakfast served in our cafeteria. Students can head down to the cafeteria to receive breakfast once we open our doors at 7:20 before heading to their homeroom. Information about the cost and the menu is available on our district website.

SPORTS

Two cut-sports have tryouts this week. Boys' soccer and girls' basketball will both take place this week.


Boys' soccer tryouts will be taking place this upcoming week. Our seventh grade tryouts are Monday and Wednesday, while our eighth grade tryouts are Tuesday and Thursday. The coaches are asking for athletes to bring water, appropriate footwear(cleats, soccer or athletic shoes), and athletic clothing. Shin guards are encouraged but not required for tryouts. As a reminder, the coaches are Ms. Lucash and Mr. Arnieri.


Girls' Basketball will conduct their tryouts this upcoming week. Eighth grade students wanting to try out will have their tryouts on Monday the 21st, and Tuesday the 22nd. Seventh grade girls will have their tryouts on Wednesday the 23rd and Thursday the 24th. Girls should be have athletic clothing that allows them to actively participate in tryouts. CROSS COUNTRY (no cut-sport):

The first meeting and practice will take place on Wednesday, August 23rd. This is a no cut-sport, and is a great opportunity for students to make some new friends and get some wonderful exercise. If parents have any questions please reach out to one of our coaches. The coaches for cross country are: Mr. Ouimet, Mrs. Bridges, Mrs. Muller, Mrs. Reid, Ms.Mauro, Mr. Freeman, Ms. Gardiner


*Your child MUST have a current physical on file in our office in order to tryout/participate in a sport.

CLUBS

We have some fun clubs that will be beginning in the month of September. This is an opportunity for students to explore different opportunities and make some great memories.

Math Club- This club will begin meeting on September 11th and will run through March 18th. The will meet on Mondays after school.

Homework Center-Homework Center will meet will meet on Thursdays and will start meeting on September 5th. This club will run through the end of the year. The staff sponsor is Ms. Piper

Announcements/News Crew - This club takes place before school. This club begins at the beginning of the year and runs through the end of the year. The clubs meets daily. The club sponsor is Mrs. Coutts-Siepka.

VEX Robotics - This clubs takes place on Mondays after school. This club starts on September 11th and goes through February 26th. The club sponsor is Mrs. Coutts-Siepka.

Anime Club- This club will begins on September 19th and runs through December 19th. The club will take place after-school on Tuesdays. The club sponsor is Ms. Hill.


PGJH ACTIVITY BUS ROUTES

BUSES DEPART AT 3:45 MONDAY - THURSDAY

It is extremely helpful if students know their street names as the routes are based on their street names.

MAP TESTING

Every student in District 15 take Fall Map tests. Test are taken in the areas of reading and math and students will be given those tests during their math class and their ELA class. Plum Grove will begin their testing session the week of August 28th. When the district closes the testing window they will upload individual student results and will most likely be mailed to parents.
