SCIENTIFIC NAME- MYOTIS GRISESCENS
The Gray Bat is found in Raleigh North Carolina. It became endangered from floods, habitat loss ( the clearing of forests along streams and lakes) past pesticide use, and human disturbance of their breeding and hibernating caves.
Gray bats are 3-4 inches in length
Gray bats are restricted to cave or cave like- habitats
Only Myotis with the wing membrane attached to the ankle
Ways to help protect Gray Bats
- Take better care of caves
- Stop the clearing of forests
