Peter Noyes Friday Flyers
Week of September 20th
From The Desk of Annette Doyle
Dear Noyes Families,
It’s a bit of a dreary Friday, but we’re making the most of our first full 5-day week of school for 2021-2022. Here are the hot topics of the week:
Back To School Night
It’s almost here! We are looking forward to our Back to School Night events on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please see the schedule below. Your child’s teacher will communicate with you directly with the Google Meet link for the Back to School night session for his/her class. In order to join the video conference, you need a Gmail account. You may use your own or your child’s account. If you need help finding your child’s account, please consult this link. In pre-COVID times, our Back to School Night would have been in person and you would have had the chance to meet the specialists, our mental health team, coaches, the PTO Co-Chairs, members of organizations like SERF and HOPESudbury, and so much more. Please check out the slide decks that we will be sending out on Monday with information from some of these important groups. In the “old days,” you would have also endured a speech from me, so consider yourself lucky this year! If you would like to see us, Kristin Moffat, Assistant Principal, and I will be joining our PTO Co-Chairs for a Principal Chat and PTO meeting on October 13 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Please see the link in the calendar below.
Tuesday, September 28
6:00-6:40 pm -- Kindergarten
6:45-7:25 pm — Grade 1
7:30-8:15 pm — Grade 2
Wednesday, September 29
5:15-5:55 pm -- Preschool
6:00-6:40 pm — Grade 3
6:45-7:25 pm — Grade 4
7:30-8:15 pm — Grade 5
Parent Conferences
Back to School Night is not a time for parent conferences; however, we do have those coming up soon in November. In the coming weeks, classroom teachers will be in touch with families to invite parents to sign up for fall parent/teacher conferences. Conferences are scheduled between November 1 through Thanksgiving break. We are planning for conferences to be in-person, though we are able to accommodate virtual meetings by request. Look for your invitation to sign up soon.
Library Volunteers
We are looking for a few experienced library volunteers to help in our library. There will be a refresher training on a Wednesday coming up soon. If you are interested, please reach out to our librarian, Barbara Gogan, via email at: barbara_gogan@sudbury.k12.ma.us
SPS COVID TESTING FORM AND THE COVID DASHBOARD
A key element of our COVID mitigation strategy is weekly COVID testing. If you have not already registered your child for weekly pool testing, you can still grant permission to participate. Please click here to sign up for testing. Please do not sign up again if you have already registered your child. The district has also posted a COVID Dashboard on the SPS website.
Sincerely,
Annette Doyle
