O'Neil's News
We have a school-wide goal of 4,000 Accelerated Reader points! Once a student earns 10 points, they will be invited to participate in our bowling trip to Brooklyn Lanes. To encourage students to earn their 10 points, they will also receive a HALFWAY prize when they have earned 5 points.
Throughout the month, teachers will hand out “CATCH THE READING WAVE!” tickets for every 5 AR points a student earns. When the student earns a ticket, they may place it in the drawing for the following items:
Two Bikes (one for a boy, one for a girl)
Money Machine
Lunch at SUBWAY and ICE CREAM with Mrs. O’Neil
Chromebook
Families are encouraged to be involved with Reading Month at home. You are invited to post photos of your child reading on our CUES Facebook page. We will select students from these photos to receive gift cards. Throughout the month, it might also be fun to read a family novel or have a family reading time. We hope to catch you reading!
We would like to thank our PTO, Kiwanis Club, the Brooklyn Lanes and our Student Council for offering prizes such as a trip in a money machine, bicycles, gift cards, a chrome book, Subway lunch and bowling. We appreciate all they do to support our students!
