We had a visit from an author, Mr. Kuon. He was hilarious! There will be another flyer going home Monday to order books. He has extended the dead line for another week. He personally autographs and draws a personalized picture in each book you buy. Very cool!
Thank you all so much for the donations of Mr. Popper's Penguins. We will be doing penguin research projects soon too, so it fits perfectly!
Still lots of sickness going around right now. Thank you for sending in waterbottles and helping us to stay hydrated here at school. We are doing all we can to stay healthy!
Have a wonderful weekend!
April McGhee
WHAT WE'VE BEEN LEARNING
Langauge Arts-We are still working on media literacy. We explored commercials and all the tricks they use to get us to buy their items. We looked at music, graphics, coupons, toy give aways, catch phrases, and editing. We also worked on persuasive writing and letter writing. We learned to make an argument and to use transition words in our writing. They even wrote about if they think ground hog day should be a holiday or not.
Science-We have been exploring water. We learned that there is more salt water and frozen fresh water than there is fresh accessible water. We have learned about where rivers come from, aquifers and glaciers.
