Imagine Your Story
Begins Friday, May 1st!
YES! Hoover Public library is still hosting summer reading this year! As you can imagine, things will look a little different. The library is only using the app Beanstack (no paper logs) to track minutes read, not pages read like in years past. There will still be prizes!
The focus is on fairytales, myths, fantasy, and titles that foster imagination. The Hoover library will be recommending titles that are on Libby(Sora) or Hoopla. Mrs. Northrup will send out age-appropriate collections for your child to read on myON that go along with the theme. The Hoover Library will also host special programs on its Facebook and Instagram pages.

Kindergarten Enrollment Information
We are so excited to welcome new kindergarten students to Gwin in the upcoming school year! After you complete the form above, please do the following:
1. You will need to pick up or request mailing an enrollment packet for your incoming students. If you choose to pick up an enrollment packet, Gwin will have them available from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on the following Wednesdays: May 13th, May 20th, May 27th. If you choose for an enrollment packet to be mailed, please email Dava Peoples at firstname.lastname@example.org to provide your mailing address.
2. In your student’s enrollment packet, you will find a list of required documents (deed/lease, birth certificate, etc.) that are required by Hoover City Schools. You will need to make copies of the required documents and provide them with your student’s completed enrollment packet.
3. Please bring your student’s completed enrollment packet and copies of the required documents to Gwin from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on either Wednesday, May 20th or Wednesday, May 27th. There will be large envelopes at Gwin for you to place your student’s copies and forms. Simply slide all copies/forms into the large envelope, seal the envelope, write your student’s name on the envelope and put the envelope in the box provided.
Lastly, you are enrolling your student at this time. Hoover City Schools online registration process will begin in June. All Hoover City Schools students must complete online registration. You will receive an email with instructions on completing the online process at that time.

The process for student class placement for the 2020-2021 academic year has begun at Gwin. Your child's teachers, the school counselor, and administrators will provide input in the decision for placement for your child for next school year. Your input is also very valuable to us.
We invite you to offer information using the form below to help with this process. Please note that this is not an opportunity to request a specific teacher or for specific classmates to be included in your child's class. We do, however, welcome you to share about positive or negative experiences in years past that may also assist our team in making the best choices possible to ensure that your child has a good year.
Please use the form linked below to provide feedback for our team if you choose. This is an optional task. This form is not required for our placement team to take your child's needs into special consideration, however, you are welcome to share your thoughts.
