GT Update News: Edition 9
for Mrs. Anderson's Crew
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Hope everyone had a fun filled holiday break. I enjoyed being home with the doggies and I had time to finish some DIY house projects I had going. The week before break was unusual for us because our fourth and fifth graders went on a field trip to the Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History on that Monday. They were both scheduled to take the reading STAAR benchmarks, so they spent their regularly scheduled days with me making up the benchmarks. So, we are back in business this week:)
Tower Building COMPLETE!
The week we got out for break, third grade finished their towers and began designing their final project showcasing their learning along the way. This week, they will finalize those projects and continue coding, which will get them one step closer to developing their own app. This week's coding focus will be binary code.
This Week with Fourth and Fifth
- Fourth grade is really getting into writing their grant proposal for our mini golf course. It's a lot of research and locating costs of items to develop a budget. After this part is finished, they will be able to move onto designing the course, and then creating the model.
- Fifth grade will finish their journey's to the Land of Ancient Podium over the next few weeks. We hope to come to a close of this communication unit by the end of January so we can start our Inventions project.
