🌸 Reminders 🌸
- Students can access the weekly Panther Connect lesson via Grade Level Google Classrooms.
- Classes begin at 8:15am, if your Panther is late, they will be marked tardy. Please try to have them on campus by 8:10am so they have time to get to class.
- For attendance questions or to excuse absences for your Panther, please email msattendance@ccusd.org
- We are beginning to compile our absence and tardy data. Students might be notified of chronic attendance issues. Students with chronic attendance issues may receive consequences like lunch detention for those tardies or absences.
- CELL PHONES/ILLNESS:
No Cell Phone should be used on campus. If your child is feeling ill, they should go to the nurse's office and you will receive a call from the health center and they will inform the front office. Also, please don't call your student on their phone during the school day. If there is an emergency, please call the school office and we will locate the student and inform them.
- FOOTWEAR:
There are no slides, slippers, or flip flops allowed for footwear on campus. Students should have shoes with closed toes and a back. Students may wear Crocs, but only with the strap around the back for safety reasons. Students will be asked to change into their PE shoes or have parents deliver appropriate footwear.
- OFFICE DROP OFF REMINDER
CCMS Office is able to receive items that students need for school and that were left behind (Chromebooks, musical instruments, PE clothes, shoes, etc) by signing the item log and leaving it for the student to pick up later in the day. The office is not able to receive outside food deliveries that arrive in packaging from various fast food, restaurant stores or family members. If your student forgot their lunch, please bring lunch in proper storage container (small cooler, lunch box, etc). Additionally, lunch is provided to all CCUSD students at no cost and students can use their student ID number to pick up a school lunch. Please limit office drop offs for urgent school or health essentials.

Her family has set up a fund for those who would like to contribute to her memorial fund to celebrate legacy and memorialize her beautiful spirit in Culver City.
From The Yearbook Committee
Dear CCMS Families,
The yearbook has been submitted to our publisher and we expect to receive them at the very end of May or early June. Online sales are no longer available but we will be selling approximately 150 books in person in the last week of school. Yearbooks will be sold for $40 cash only and we do prioritize selling to 8th graders for the first few days of in-person sales. We do not know the sale dates yet because we don't know when we will receive the books. We will be sure to update everyone with sales dates as soon as we receive the books.
If you ordered one online, it will be delivered to your child's English Language Arts class where they will sign for their yearbook (as proof of receipt).
Thank you for your support of the yearbook!
Sincerely,
Holly and the Yearbook Staff

PTSA Student Store needs YOUR help!
Your kids really love cup-a-noodles. Like, really!
So much so that the student store might sell out before the end of the year.
We need your support to keep the student store open through the end of school. Order cup-a-noodles or a few other items to support the PTSA.
Order from our Amazon wish list, with deliveries arriving *no later than May 20th.* https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/5J42K5YILDD?ref_=wl_share
Thank you for supporting the PTSA!

*You MUST be a cleared volunteer to sign up!*
(If you are NOT a cleared volunteer yet, but would like to be, please send us an email and we'll help get you the info you need.)
If you are not familiar with the Student Store, it’s on the CCMS blacktop behind the front gym and is open AFTER school for about an hour or so. Students can purchase snacks and P.E. clothes here.
*You do not need any experience to volunteer here; we will always have one PTSA board member working the store when it’s open.
Our hope for this year is to have it open consistently on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, but without (cleared) parent volunteers, we will not be able to do that. We cannot open without at least one board member and one parent volunteer!
Please use the link below to the Signup Genius if you are available any of the above days from 1:30pm until about 3:45/4:00pm:

(If you would like to sign up but need to leave earlier than 3:30pm, let us know in the comments and we can usually work it out!)
Please feel free to email us with any questions: CCMSPTSA.Store@gmail.com.

While the days of clipping Box Tops from packages are gone, the Box Tops program is still here! Our school receives .10 per Box Top, and though it may not seem like much, it can sure add up over the course of the year. There are also bonuses and sweepstakes that offer chances to get even more free money for CCMS!
Simply download the Box Tops for Education app, take a picture of your shopping receipt, and submit it for credit within 14 days of the purchase date (digital receipts from online shopping can be submitted, too). Or, if you don't want to download the app, you can have your Panther bring your receipts to Ms. Montealvo in Room 320, and she'll be happy to scan them for our school!
You can find a list of participating products here: https://www.boxtops4education.com/s/box-tops-products If you have any questions, please email Mara Bushansky at beingreen@earthlink.net.
📱 New Communications with our Panther Community: PARENT SQUARE📱
We are transitioning to using Parent Square to communicate with our Panther community. This app is user-friendly and offers the ability for you to receive communications via text and email. You should have already received a registration email, but if you have not, it's okay! You can register through the app by following the instructions below.
Thank you for your continued partnership!
🚌 New GoPass Information for the 2023-2024 School Year! 🚌
- Using Your Existing GoPass TAP Card: If you have a GoPass TAP Card from previous years, you can keep using it for the 23-24 school year. Make sure to get a new Eligibility Code by emailing us at gopass@culvercity.org or giving us a call at (310) 253-6500.
- Lost Your GoPass TAP Card?: If you lost your GoPass TAP Card, you can receive a brand new one. Here's the trick: when you activate the new card online, remember to choose "I want to replace my lost TAP card." This step is super important because it deactivates your old card and activates the new one.
- Using GoPass on Your Phone: If you decide to add your GoPass TAP Card to your Apple or Android wallet, you won't be able to use the physical card anymore. From then on, just tap with your phone.
- New Look for GoPass TAP Card: We're changing things up! Instead of the pocket folders, each school will now get GoPass TAP Cards in a cool foldable "passport". It has all the info students need: how to activate, FAQs, CCUSD GoPass contact, and Culver CityBus contact.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or if you are requesting new GoPass Passports please contact us at gopass@culvercity.org
🎒 Culver City Backpacks For Kids 🎒
Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD) believes that no child in our community should go hungry or have food insecurities, especially on weekends when students don’t have access to school-sponsored breakfast and lunch. The Culver City Council PTA, in conjunction with CCUSD, provides students in need with a backpack filled with non-perishable food and snacks each week to ensure that every child can eat on the weekends.
There is no cost to participate and enrollment is 100% confidential. Each week, filled backpacks will be available for pickup. You or your child, simply pick up the backpack and take it home. Backpacks will not be returned each week; your student will receive a new backpack each week. Enrollment is ongoing so any child in need can sign up for the program at any time throughout the school year.
If you would like your student to receive a weekly backpack, sign up here: https://forms.gle/HH595xKxJGr9H8tw8 or complete a form in your school office.

-------------------
