Something to Yelle About
The Weekly Newsletter for the Henri A. Yelle Elementary
Learning Might Look A Little Different But It's Still Amazing and FUN!
Yelle Newsletter for February 26th
Hello from the Yelle.
What a sensational first week back after Break!
Everyone jumped right back with both feet.
As the Big Picture above shows: We have a student with her teacher at the board working and showing how to do a problem; a student taking notes; a Music student working on his online created composition; students working together "apart"; some of our tremendous 5th Grade Announcement Crew; and a student getting into reading.
That's what we're looking for. As we move into another month, we continue to chug along learning in different ways. I could not be more proud of everyone.
Make sure you check out our HAY PTO Cupboard of Kindness Collection tomorrow, Saturday, February 27, in the front loop (more info below).
Please check out the rest of the Newsletter for some amazing Tweeted pictures like the ones above, a Blingo Night for NEED, News from the HAY PTO, and more. Please check it out.
Thanks; have a wonderful weekend; stay safe and well,
Marty

A New Website to Help Families for Mental Health
A message from NORTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Good morning,
COVID-19 is putting incredible pressure on families. Many of you are worried about your child’s mental health, but aren’t sure where to turn or how to get started. HandholdMA.org, a new family friendly website, can help.
The website, created by a team of mental health and child development experts in partnership with parents who have “been there,” was designed for parents of school-aged children in Massachusetts.
Handhold has three main sections:
- Should I worry? Helps parents explore if their kid is just being a kid, or if their behavior is something to worry about. Parents can learn about signs to look for and get suggestions on what to do next.
- What can I do? Tips, tools, and strategies that have worked for other families, sorted by topic, and picked by Handhold. These are things parents can learn about or do from home.
- Who can help? Carefully selected community organizations and government resources to help families find the right mental health services.
Whatever steps you decide to take, HandholdMA.org offers a variety of tips, tools, and resources to help you take them with confidence.

Freckle is an online learning platform that allows students to practice Math and English Language Arts at their own level. Freckle continuously adapts to each student’s individual skills, so each student is getting the appropriate challenge, whether they’re working at, above, or below grade level.
We are using Freckle with K-5 students and wanted to share some helpful resources to help support our parents/students at home.
