Finish Strong
I read this quote over the weekend and it resonated with me, and it might for your as well:
"Starting strong is good. Finishing strong is epic." - Robin Sharma
We are at a pivotal moment this week. This is the last week before our 5th and 4th Graders take their state exam and when our 3rd - 5th take their final district common assessment. How we started in the Fall, how the students came back in January, and how we have done since spring break can either be positive or negative; but ultimately it does not matter. How we do from this moment until the end is the ONLY thing that MATTERS.
We all have a choice, are we going to end the year like a fire that fizzles out ... or, are we going to End Strong and be Epic? The choice is yours. We are the only ones who can make it happen. How do you want to end this year??
Epic - a story telling tradition that involves narrating the deeds and adventures of heroic and legendary figures ... it sounds about right, doesn't it??
Lets be Epic!
Onward!
27th Week in Review
Immediately after, we had a drop in from our Feeder Pattern Executive Director Clarita Rivera as well, she was also giving positive feedback on our instruction and student movement through Tiers.
We are getting noticed in positive ways, lets continue this over the next few weeks!!
Teacher Shout Outs!!
A HUGE shout out to Metoyer and Aguilar for starting and setting up a Chavez Baseball Team!!
Another shout out to teachers who came up on Friday to push our students forward and give them extra support!!
A HUGE Shout Out to Aiken!! After reviewing the most recent TEKS Screening, 5th Grade Reading has earned above a 50% Average of 3 on Domain 1!! This is huge.
For a better understanding of how hard it is for an Average of 3 to be above a 36 percent, please see here: Page 13 - Above 90 on Econ Disadv.
Great examples of how Arnal and Adams are tracking data!!
