The Most Famous Scam There Is...
You probably don't actually have a rich Nigerian cousin.
It begins..
You recieve an email from an unknown address. Opening it, you meet your long lost relative, and he needs your help. Turns out you're related to a millionare! All you have to do is send him a few thousand, and he'll reward you with millions! Seems like a pretty sweet deal, right?
What happens?
You wire the money, and then you wait for your promised reward. And you wait. And wait. And wait...
After a time, you realize that you've been scammed! Some con man made away with a couple thousand, and your bank account is greatly depleted.
What should you do?
Unfortunately, there really isn't a way to return your stolen cash. However, this problem could have been nipped in the bud if you wouldn't have sent money to this stranger. Next time, proceed with caution.
Next time?
Ignore the email! Delete it as soon as it arrives in your inbox, because if there's one thing you don't want, it's an imaginary cousin suckering you out of ten grand.
