The Senior class will be given the opportunity to make-up the SAT School Day that was missed due to school cancellation in Spring of 2020. This test will be Wednesday, October 14th, it is free of charge and voluntary. The results of this test are valid SAT scores that can be sent to college admissions. Again, this test is only for current seniors. Any seniors who want to participate in the SAT School must contact Ms. Fuller or Mr. Nichols in person, by email or phone message by 3:00 pm on Friday, October 9th to be scheduled. All students, both virtual and in-person, must report to campus on test day. Seniors who are currently virtual will report to the cafeteria by 8:10 am on test day. Make-up day is Wednesday, October 27th. These are the only opportunities that will be given for seniors to take their SAT School Day test. Once the testing roster is complete more information will be forthcoming.

Healthy Expectations by Nurse Dante:
Update from the Nurse:
The Health Department visited our schools on Friday and offered the flu vaccine to staff. There will be a make-up day on Tuesday, October 13th at HHS, please see Mrs. Dante if interested.
A community-wide flu vaccine and free COVID-testing opportunity will be held on Saturday, October 17th from 8am-12N in the HHS parking lot. Feel free to contact the Health Department or your school nurse with any questions.
The recommendations for quarantining are based on Guidance from the CDC. We quarantine as a precaution to minimize the exposure of the virus to others. When someone with symptoms is tested for COVID, it is recommended they quarantine at home for the 1-3 days til their results are back. When a person is diagnosed with and/or a direct contact of someone who tests positive for COVID, there are recommendations to quarantine. The length of time depends on several factors, such as the onset of symptoms, the date of your positive test, the status of the other members in your household and more. Thankfully we have a Health Department to guide us through this process. The success of our quarantine process has kept our community spread to a minimum, and this has helped us keep our schools open!
Thank you, Providers, and Thank you to our local Health Department.
School-based Health Services and Counseling Services begin this week. We are excited to be able to offer this opportunity daily to all staff, and students at Romney Middle and the High School. Parent permission is required to be seen by the Medical Provider and parents are contacted when their child is seen. If you have any questions or would like a permission form, please call the school nurse at 304 822-5016, ext 1030.
Tech Tips by Mr. Feazell:
The Magic of Restarting...
Restarting is one of the simplest things you can do to fix an electronic device, yet most times it is one of the most effective. Restarting a device resets the internal applications and it will more often than not correct simple issues you are experiencing.
Can’t connect to the Internet. Try Restarting
Can’t open the application you need. Try Restarting
Chromebook not charging correctly. Try Restarting
You should restart your device at least once a week to avoid most simple issue from occurring, it is recommended that you restart your device every Sunday so you can start off the week with a fresh turn on.
Schoology Tips from our Academic Coaches:
QUESTION: How do I assign reading homework that does not require a submission?
ANSWER: If you have homework that is not required to be turned in, you can opt to disable submissions in the assignment. Once a due date is set on the assignment, students will see the assignment in their upcoming feed and can open the assignment but will not be able to submit anything and avoid receiving unnecessary Overdue notifications.
To disable submissions:
- Click the gear icon to the right of the assignment in your course profile.
- Select Edit.
- Under Advanced, click the drop box icon to disable submissions.
- Click Save Changes to confirm.
QUESTION: What is the purpose of the Calendar?
ANSWER: The Schoology Calendar is an important, organizational element for your connections, courses, and groups. It keeps events and due dates organized and easily accessible. By clicking the Calendar icon at the top of Schoology, you can view events and due dates by the month, week, or day. Each item is color-coded depending on the courses, groups, school, or your own personal events. Due dates for assignments, assessments and important course related events are automatically added to your calendar and managed by your teacher.
QUESTION: What do I do if I forget my parent password to Schoology?
ANSWER: Go to www.schoology.com and click the Login button, Select the 'Forget your password?' link. Complete the form and a password reset link will be sent to your personal email account.
