Principal Update
Let's be elite in our 20 square feet!
Week of September 11th
Good Morning,
I hope that every staff member and their family members are safe and did not incur storm damage. Even if damage is done, we have to remember that things can be replaced. Let's continue to remember our fellow Americans in Houston, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina that have been impacted by recent Hurricanes.
Welcome Heather Dillingham to Lesslie! Heather will be assisting in the behavior support class. Thank you, Heather for your support!
Shout Outs
Hats off to Mr. Hayes and Mrs. Stinson for all of your assistance in holding down behaviors in our two behavior support classrooms!
Thank you 4th grade for providing the delicious refreshments last week!
Due to the two hour delay, we will operate on an abbreviated schedule. We will not have MAP testing today.
Professional Development
Shawna Heun, school psychologist, will facilitate our professional development this afternoon. We will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the media center. The topic will be RTI.
We will reschedule PDT with Shemia Thompson. Please come by the conference room to meet briefly during your planning time.
GBE/SLO
We will have our annual training on Tuesday, September 26th. As you ponder your goal(s) for this school year, please use your data to identify areas for improvement. Your goals should support our school and district goals for high student achievement and growth for every student.
There is a district math plan to address our student achievement in the area of math. Please consider district professional development opportunities such as Math at a Glance to support your goals. Benchmark tests will be created by instruction to support math instruction.
Discipline/Educator's Handbook
Please do not send students to the office without writing a referral or letting an administrator know why the student was sent out of the classroom. Remember, minor referrals will be printed in the office for students to take home but the teacher writing the referral is responsible for giving the student the consequence and contacting a parent/guardian. Please indicate on the referral whether it is a minor or a major referral. Recess should not be taken from students as a consequence (this includes walking). Our PBIS and Wellness teams will be sharing alternative consequences that may be used.
