CSCS Elementary Parent Newsletter

A New Way to Update and Communicate With Parents!
As technology becomes more and more prevalent in our everyday lives we at school are always looking for more engaging and informative ways to communicate the wonderful things going on in our school!
Instead of a weekly email message like we have done in the past, we will be working to share a bi-weekly newsletter to all parents in a web-based format. This will allow us to share more pictures, links to parent resources, and in general provide a more engaging format that parents will hopefully enjoy!
Our start of the school year has been so much fun! I have never seen our teachers get students into solid instruction so quickly and with so much excitement and purpose!
We will continue to be the best we can, making all decisions based on the needs of our students first and including all stakeholders in the critically important job of creating Successful Citizens Striving to make a Positive difference in our school, community, country and world!
Sincerely,
James E. Anderson

It is amazing that it has been 25 years since the coming together of two communities to create the CSCS Panthers! This elementary principal remembers being part of the first group of CSCS Panthers to walk the stage at graduation and I couldn't be more proud of how our school has grown and continues to keep our heartfelt traditions along with blazing new trails in our region as leaders to provide the best school experience for all of our children!

Tuesday- Mismatch Day
Wednesday- Favorite Superhero Day
Thursday- Dress up (Picture Day)

Encourage your child to participate in the fun together as CSCS Panthers!
Building the Skill of Self-Confidence in our Children
One of the hardest challenges we face as human beings is negative self-talk. How do we turn that voice in our head to self confidence? How do we provide feedback to ourselves and our children to build self-confidence and change the script in our own heads! The attached video on building self-confidence is below (just give it a click!). It's a great reminder of what we do, and how important it is to creating successful citizens!
As the Athletic Director and head coach of the Varsity Soccer team at Ryerson University, Dr. Joseph is often asked what skills he is searching for as a recruiter: is it speed? Strength? Agility? In Dr. Joseph's TEDx Talk, he explores self confidence and how it is not just the most important skill in athletics, but in our lives.
