It is important that the students be in attendance and well-rested, so they can do their best on the tests.
Also, MAP testing will be held the week of May 11. All students in grades K -2 will be tested to see how they have progressed this year. Please do not schedule any appointments for your children during this time. It is important that the students are in attendance and well-rested, so they can do their best on the tests. Thank you for your cooperation.

CoVID-19 Update
I would like to share information regarding the CoVID-19 and the impact for the Christ Child Academy community. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee is in the planning stages for how CoVID-19 could impact the overall implications to schools within the Archdiocese and of the State as a whole.
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the risk to the American Public for those not exposed to CoVID-19 is low. However, the situation is rapidly evolving, and we will do our best to keep you appraised. The CDC and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services are providing daily updates on their websites:
· CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
· WI DHS: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/outbreaks/index.htm
Symptoms:
Symptoms of CoVID-19 are similar to the seasonal flu, and include:
· Fever
· Cough
· Shortness of breath
We know that a student has the greatest opportunity to learn when he or she is present in school. We need to make sure that students and parents understand it is acceptable, actually preferable, that they stay home when sick. Health trumps attendance.
Please refer to the attached document titled, “When To Keep Your Child Home” which are recommendations from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health.
Prevention strategies for students and parents:
· Practice good hand washing, wash hands in warm water for at least 20 seconds while scrubbing with soap.
· Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
· Use a tissue when coughing or sneezing and properly dispose of it or cough into your elbow/sleeve if a tissue is not available.
· Do not touch your mouth, nose or eyes. If you do, wash your hands immediately.
· Clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces in your home including doorknobs, light switches, computer keyboards, laptops, and cell phones.
We will continue to update the Christ Child Academy community as the need arises.

Standards Based Grading
During this school year, Christ Child Academy will be transitioning from a traditional grading system to standards based grading system, which will go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has strongly recommended that all schools move to this reporting framework.
As we proceed through this transition over the next year, please know that our goal of academic excellence remains our priority. These "best practices" will enable parents to fully understand where their child is academically while at the same time motivating students to become life-learners.
The Parenting Guide to Standards Based Grading will provide valuable insight during this transition. Additional information will be coming in the following weeks.
