New Special Education RUSD Staff
In June, the Rowland Unified School District named Stacy Berrest as the new Director of Special Education/SELPA. Mrs. Berrest was previously the Special Education Coordinator who supported secondary programs.
In addition, in September, the Rowland Unified School District named Nicole Hernandez as the new Assistant Director of Special Education. Mrs. Hernandez was previously the Special Education Coordinator who supported elementary programs.

SANTA CARES-Sensory Friendly
Santa welcomes people of all ages and abilities to visit during dedicated hours! To provide a quieter experience, Santa Cares events are hosted prior to stores opening, center music will be off, and guest traffic is expected to be minimal. Visits with Santa are free. Photo packages will be available for purchase.

Sensory Friendly Movies at AMC Puente Hills
AMC is proud to partner with the Autism Society to offer unique movie showings where we turn the lights up, and turn the sound down, so you can get up, dance, walk, shout or sing! Our Sensory Friendly Film program is available on the second and fourth Saturday (family-friendly) and Wednesday evenings (mature audiences) of every month. Please check your local theatre listings for specific showtimes, and don't forget to share your family fun with #AMCSensoryFriendly.
Letters to Santa
Write Santa a letter to tell him a little something about yourself and how you’ve been good all year! Remember, Santa knows if you have been bad or good! We have created a template for your convenience.
Letters must be postmarked by December 9th.

The Children's Museum at La Habra
"Sensory Friendly Tuesdays" is a new program for children with autism and sensory processing differences. Children and their companions can explore the museum without the crowds, noise, and bright lights of a typical museum day.
Every Tuesday Morning from 9:00am – 10:00am . All “Sensory Friendly Tuesday” participants are welcome to enjoy their visit until museum close at 4:00pm
What to Expect:
Dim lights No loud announcements
Limited admission
Lowered volume of exhibits
A calming area with sensory toys

As capacity is limited, reservations are required $7 per person two years old and older Free for museum members Free admission for one licensed aide per child.
