Be In the Know!
August 31st - September 4th
Scholar Resource Distribution is Tuesday, September 1st from 4:30 to 6:30
On Tuesday, Sept.1st, from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm, we will be distributing "kits" of supplies for all of our scholars to assist them with basic needs to help them at home (pencils, paper, colors, glue, markers etc...). In addition, scholars in grades PK - 2 will receive a resource binder and consumables to assist them with the learning needed in their respective grade levels. Please make plans to join us Tuesday from 4:30 until 6:30. Distribution will be held in our back parking lot by the cafeteria.
To assist, please place the name(names) of your scholar(s) and their grade level in the window, so we know what to distribute to you. Thanks!
Returning Student - Annual Student Update
This electronic, online process is required each year for all Spring ISD scholars. From the comfort of your home, parents and guardians are able to electronically review, update and sign all required documentation for his or her scholar in one location.
This year, the process will look a little different, and will require that parents and guardians link their Home Access Center (HAC) account to their PowerSchool Enrollment account.
You will need the account login information for both accounts to perform the one time link of the accounts, but once the link occurs, you will only need your SpringISD Portal login information in the future.
Please note that returning scholars are those who were enrolled on a Spring ISD campus on the last day of the 2019-20 school year. If you’ve moved within Spring ISD, don’t worry, as long as your family is still within our attendance boundaries, you are still considered a returning scholar.
NATIONAL COLLEGE COLORS DAY - FRIDAY, SEPT. 4TH
Important Information about Beginning of Year Assessments
Parents/Guardians:
We wanted to let you know that your scholar will be given beginning-of-year assessments to be taken at home online during our testing window from Sept. 1st through Sept. 25th.
These online assessments will be administered to students in :
Pre-Kindergarten - Circle Assessment
Kindergarten - Acceleration Screening
- Kindergarten - 2nd - TPRI/Tejas Lee
- 3rd - 5th Grade Reading and Math
- 4th Grade Writing
- 5th Grade Science
These tests will help us better understand where your scholar is academically, so we can better tailor our instruction and address any gaps related to the disruption in learning from the extended COVID-19 closure last spring. We will be sending details on the specific dates and times of testing soon.
It is very important that your scholar take their assessments without any assistance, so the results give us accurate data related to your scholar's performance.
Scholars will access the online assessments at tx.schoolnet.com with their username, password, and test passcodes that will be provided. A technical support guidance document will be shared with parents and guardians to help with common troubleshooting.
All scholars will look at the online tutorial which will show your scholar how the online tests work and how to use the online tools. Be reminded that these online assessments will not be used as a grade, but will assist us in determining the specific needs of each learner. It further guides our next steps in helping your scholar be academically successful.
We appreciate your support. Should you need additional information, please contact your scholar's teacher(s).

Virtual Learning
Parents, we need your help!
First and foremost, we cannot do this without you and the continuous support you are providing your scholar. We truly thank you for everything you're doing to assist us! Virtual learning is different. It is difficult and often challenging. Yet, we are grateful for your efforts and our partnership!
We are here to help! Our teachers are working diligently to give you the tools you need to help you help your scholar navigate. We have set up support for you provided by our Digital Learning Coach and front office staff during the actual school day to assist you.
Therefore, we ask that if you are sitting with your children during online learning, please refrain from:
- Interrupting the teacher
- Asking the teacher questions
- Completing your child's lessons/assignments/or assessments/exit tickets
- Turning your cameras off
- Responding for your child when the teacher is asking them questions
- Attending class in place of your child
- Verbally attacking the teacher and/or other children
- Placing comments in the chat that do are not about the lesson
Parents, we are asking that you or your designee SUPPORT OUR SCHOLARS from behind the scenes.
Allow them to gain autonomy, independence, and empower them to achieve excellence! Give them the encouragement they need to learn on their own by learning how to navigate the keyboard, the screens, the lessons, and their school day with minimal support! Of course, we want you to supervise the appropriate use of their technology, and we will do the same. It is imperative that we hold each other accountable for supporting our scholars in this new learning mode to avoid a digital divide. Please hold our teachers accountable for engaging your children and also supporting this remote learning platform with as much assistance and guidance as possible. We are here to help your scholar and to help you!
Our scholars, regardless of whether they are face to face or virtual, will still need to be accountable for all of the content that teachers are reviewing and covering. We know that instruction has been interrupted by the events of COVID-19, but we are back in business! It just looks and feels differently! However, your scholar will still be held accountable for their work, efforts, and ultimately, their grades. The grading policy is still in effect and we must adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Texas Education Agency!
You may request assistance by:
- Emailing the teacher(s)
- Communicating with the teacher(s) via the class mode of communication
- Calling the front office
- Contacting the Help Desk between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
The teacher will respond to your request within 24 hours. Please note, there are three different times in which a teacher can assist: during their planning time, office hours, or after school.
Thank you for your cooperation and support!
