HOMECOMING

Thank you to Ms. Mackin, Ms. Melillo, and everyone involved in making our Homecoming Dance a success! It was a beautiful night and everyone in attendance seemed to enjoy themselves and relished the opportunity to be together. Congratulations to seniors Gabriella Petrocelli and Anthony Mardini, who were crowned Queen and King.

Congratulations to both our freshman and varsity football teams, who concluded our homecoming festivities with victories over Toms River High School South by scores of 42-6 and 28-6, respectively as a part of the Great American Rivalry. Congratulations to senior Justin Smith, who was honored as the Great American Rivalry Scholar-Athlete.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Congratulations to sophomore Libbie Diamond who was named one of the winners of the Veterans Day Essay contest which is hosted by the Toms River Township Veterans Day Commission. Libbie wrote a beautiful and poignant essay on “How to be a Good American”. She will receive a $50 gift card and have the honor of marching in the Veterans Day Parade.

Congratulations to our October Staff Member of the Month, Ms. Val Mackin! Ms. Mackin is a proud graduate of High School North and has taught here for all 12 years of her professional career. She currently teaches Pre-Calculus and Rise Math, however she has taught all levels of mathematics. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Mackin has been a class advisor, and currently oversees our Cheerleading and Tech Student Association programs. In her spare time, Val loves to run, read, and spend time with her family. She states that her favorite thing about our school are her colleagues and students. She enjoys the teamwork that exists here.

MARIA RESSA - CLASS OF 1982 - NOBEL PEACE PRIZE WINNER!

Maria Ressa graduated in 1982 from High School North, where she served as class president for three years; performed as a member of the chorus, orchestra, and theatre clubs; played basketball and softball; and, unsurprisingly, was voted “most likely to succeed.”

We are all so impressed and honored to be associated with a MARINER who has been able to make a difference on the world stage. As a representative of students past and present, we would like to name our newly renovated auditorium in her honor.

Please click the link below to sign the petition that will be sent to our Board of Education as a request for the permission to do so.
