October 2020

A Message from Ms. Cimino

We are off to a great start of the 2020-2021 school year! We are thrilled to see our students both in person and virtually. It was also wonderful to see so many families at our virtual Back to School Night. Please remember that if you have any questions you can reach myself or Mr. McShaffrey via phone or email. As a district we will continue to monitor the current situation, and make adjustments to our school plan accordingly. As always, the safety of our students and staff is at the forefront of all we do. We appreciate your cooperation during this time.

We are looking forward to a great October with our Week of Respect, Global Cardboard Challenge at Home, Halloween festivities and much more. Please make sure to check our website and to join our Remind text group by texting @hmpparents to 81010. This will help you to get the most up to date information about what is taking place at school.

Halloween Festivities

This year the Potter School Halloween parade will be an in school event for students only. Due to the current restrictions we are unable to have visitors. We will film and photograph the parade, and share the footage online for families to view. Students are permitted to wear their costumes to school on Tuesday October 27 for Group 1 students and Friday October 30 for Group 2 and Group 4 students. Group R students can wear their costumes for virtual class on October 30.

Please make sure costumes are safe for students to walk around and easy for them to put on. Weapons are not allowed with costumes, please keep them home. Safety of the children is always our number one concern. We ask that you please refrain from signing your child out early on the day of the parade since it is already an abbreviated day.
