The Telegraph was a machine used in the 1800s to communicate with other people without sending a letter or being with that person.

Who invented it?

Samuel Morse invented the Telegraph.

How did it impact the Americans and society?

It helped the Americans to contact others and find help and call reinforcements.

The first message to be sent from the telegraph was from Washington DC to Baltimore, Maryland on May, 24, 1844.
