Parent/Family Educational Effectiveness Survey
Each year, GCPS asks our families about their child’s school as part of our commitment to improvement. This year, the school district is partnering with the Center for Educational Effectiveness to ask questions that provide feedback on nine characteristics of high-performing schools. In addition, the survey asks about two other areas associated with high-performing schools—district support for improvement and respect for diverse cultures and backgrounds.
The Parent/Family survey opened this week and will remain open through April 2. Please use the link or QR code found below to share your feedback. Make sure to select your preferred language on the first page (English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese).
PARENTVUE MOBILE APP
The Synergy Parent mobile app, ParentVUE, is available for use. The app is available in the Apple App Store, as well as the Google Play Store. It will allow parents, who have a parent portal account, to view schedules, grades, see when assignments are due, view graduation requirements, find missing assignments, and view other important student information. An active parent portal account is required to log in to ParentVUE.
**Having this app will help with future check-in/check-out procedures.

They should be store bought, ready to serve, require no refrigeration or cutting, and should not include drinks. Please be aware of allergies of students in the classroom and plan accordingly. Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
Cell phones may be brought to school for after school use as long as they are turned off and left in the student’s book bag at all times during the school day. If a phone is taken out during the school day, it will be taken up by the teacher, and the parent will need to come to the school to retrieve it. No games should be brought to school at any time. Devices such as computers and tablets can only be brought for instructional purposes through the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) initiative. Students must follow teacher guidelines for device use. If you DO NOT want your child to participate in technology, appear in the morning news, or have candid photos taken of them throughout the year, please send a note clearly stating this to the front office.
