Teaching Models
As we welcome many of our students back to school full time, we are mindful that we still have around 20% of students learning online. Up to this point, teachers have been instructing both online and in-person students during the PM session at Elmwood. In order to meet the needs of all learners, some grade levels have been using a co-teaching model of instruction where students have access to multiple teachers within the grade level.
With around 80% of students returning full day at Elmwood, each grade level will have a unique set of circumstances and therefore will be creating a model of instruction which meets the needs of both online and in-person learners. Within each model, your child will still have access to their homeroom teacher. In the upcoming weeks, your child’s teacher will communicate the grade level plan for instruction during the last 8 weeks of school. Our commitment remains the same: to meet the social-emotional and academic needs of all students at Elmwood.
Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Arrival: Students can arrive at Elmwood between 8:00-8:10. We do not have staff supervising before 8:00, so please do not leave children unattended until staff are present at 8:00. Due to the increase in students, we will be using two car drop off lanes, and details are listed in the handout below.
Dismissal: Students will exit the building at the 2:30 dismissal bell. Car riders will all be picked up in the south parking lot between 2:30-2:45.
