A Message from the Board President
Happy New Year!
Dear District 41 Community,
Happy New Year from your Board of Education! It’s great to see all of the schools and the district back in the swing of things after a much needed and deserved break.
Earlier this week at our Board meeting, we shared a video presentation celebrating all of the wonderful service activities that happened during this holiday season involving District 41 families and staff. The Board of Education came together over winter break to give back to the community as well. I have never been more proud to be a part of this district. Please take a few minutes to view this video and to hear from our students, parents and staff about all of the great service work that happened this holiday season.
Also, at our first Board meeting of the new year, we had the pleasure of welcoming our first ever District 41 Board of Education student representatives. Over 20 students applied through a blind selection process and two young women were seated on Monday evening. We look forward to working with both Abigail Herbold and Ashlynn Kousgaard throughout the rest of the school year. It’s going to be incredibly helpful to have students at the table. Thank you to our superintendent Dr. Melissa Kaczkowski for bringing this idea to us.
In this new year, I invite all to connect with the Board of Education and continue to make a difference in our schools and community. One opportunity will be through a District 41 Strategic Planning process. We will be calling on the community to participate in a variety of ways over the remainder of the school year. More information will be coming soon. The District will also be engaging with parents on a follow up assessment of its Special Education Audit.
Thank you for your support of all children and thank you for your partnership.
Dr. Robert Bruno
