Week of October 21-25, 2019
A Note From Mrs. Garrison
Next week is National Red Ribbon Week! Each day we are focusing on elements of a healthy lifestyle. Monday we will wear read or dress like a super hero! The schedule of events is listed below.
Our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students will have the chance to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. This is a great opportunity to help students improve their spelling and increase their vocabulary. If you would like for your child to participate, fill out the attached link by Friday, November 1st. We will send home the study guide with your child next week. Contact Sarah Radford at 936-709-1700 if you have any questions.

CISD Bond Information
The November 5th Bond Referendum contains a second proposition, Proposition B, which
includes the installation of artificial turf on the fields used by Oak Ridge, TW College Park,
Conroe, Caney Creek and The Woodlands High School. This will allow the 15,000+ students to
use the fields for their activities on a more consistent basis.

Teacher Wish Bins
Classroom libraries play a key role in providing access to books and promoting literacy. Help your child’s teacher build a fun and diverse classroom library buy shopping the Teacher Wish Bins at the book fair—OR purchase a gift certificate for the special teachers in your child’s life!
Coins for Classroom Libraries
When shopping at the book fair, parents and students will have the option to donate their change to purchase books for Powell classroom libraries! Look for the coin collection box at the cashier counter. Last spring, we collected enough change to buy 1 book for every homeroom teacher. Our goal this year is 2 books for every classroom! Scholastic will match your donations for a national organization that distributes book to kids in need.
