Slavery
.
In the early 1600s explorers of the European continent went out to explore new land. They stumbled upon this humongous land they were extremely happy as they saw no one had claimed this mass land. So they started to explore their new found land in hopes to find new and interesting things they could bring back home. Along there 2 month exploration they found lots of new animals, foods, and plants they have never ever came across before. Then one day they discovered what would change the face of history entirely. They came across a little village with people of different kind. These people had a much darker skin tone. Some would say they looked like dirt and they had only tree leaves to cover their private areas. As they entered the village they seem to notice that thee strange people communicated by click noises. Little did they know these people were fully taught kill in combat. As they approached they got surrounded and tied up. They were held hostage for 5 years in that time the Europeans leaned to communicate with the dirt colored people. They forced them to teach how to build and make stuff. The chief decided he wanted to explore the white man’s world. So they built about 200 ships or so and sailed out to the European continent. As they got there they started to destroy everything in sight they captured white families and took them back to the ship back to their homeland more than half of the people died of starvation and sicknes.as they got to the home land the people made them like their little personal butlers. The dirt people decided to call the whites slaves and they would own, sell, and trade slaves. Over the years the dirt people later on to be named Africans would travel back and forth to Europe to get more slaves. There was always that group of people that thought this slavery thing was against human nature. So they would try to protest and try to end slavery. But as the years went along there came along a African named Martin Luther King. Mk would be the one to set the slaves free and send them back to their homelands. At a young age mlk hated to see how the slaves were treated from the lack of good nutrition to the beating of them. He started an anti-slavery movement that became larger than life its self. He would end up freeing the slaves and sending them back to their homeland. The white people offered mlk to come along and become there king since there current one neglected the fact that more then half of the population had become slaves. As mlk became king he had a vision that one day Africans and whites could be at peace with each other. Mlk was killed by poison. Shortly after he died his vision came true Africans and white s resolved their differences and could live together as one nation .

Pot of gold
[Chorus:]
All the spotlight is not for me,
I close my eyes and imagine I'm home,
I miss the days when life was simple,
But if I never tried to follow that rainbow,
In search of the pot of gold (whoa whoa),
In search of the pot of gold.
[Verse 1:]
There's a mother out there right now,
About to have the next LeBron,
Searchin' for a pot of gold like a leprechaun,
They say death comes in threes, whose next in line?
And I just lost a best friend for the second time,
Now I'm on a quest to find peace,
Still gotta carry my piece and soo-woo when it's reppin' time,
Ya'll don't understand, I'm misunderstood,
Give Interscope 2 more albums then I’m done for good,
Sold 10 million records ain't leave the hood,
It's a cold world everybody need a hood,
And everybody doin' time stay headstrong,
You still gotta chance to live,
Even though you're dead wrong.
[Chorus:]
All the spotlight is not for me,
I close my eyes and imagine I'm home,
I miss the days when life was simple,
But if I never tried to follow that rainbow,
In search of the pot of gold (whoa whoa)
In search of the pot of gold
[Verse 2:]
Sometimes I try to do good but I just can't be,
It's hard to get myself to do things that ain't me,
And ya'll should thank me,
But my haters busy tryna send me home early but you can't New Orleans Saint me.
I ain't a saint B, I ain't a god God,
I ain't an angel neither but I try hard ya'll,
I'm lightin' up for all my soldiers at war,
As I sit back and watch the ashes on my cigar fall,
Wayne just came home, and tip back on the yard dog,
Guess Pujols ain't the only one playin’ hard ball.
[Chorus:]
All the spotlight is not for me,
I close my eyes and imagine I'm home,
I miss the days when life was simple,
But if I never tried to follow that rainbow,
In search of the pot of gold (whoa whoa),
In search of the pot of gold.
[Chris Brown:]
See the thing about all of us is
You know just what we bout
All the spotlight is not for me,
I close my eyes and imagine I'm home,
I miss the days when life was simple,
But if I never tried to follow that rainbow,
In search of the pot of gold (whoa whoa),
In search of the pot of gold.
Relates to 1984
This song is called pot of god by the game and Chris brown. The song tells how as he was growing up he was always wanted to know and achieve more. As he came to grow up and learn more about this world we live in he realizes he doesn’t like being at the top. To fully understand the deeper meaning of this song you would have to know the games background. I think this song is a perfect theme song for George Orwell’s 1984 because they both sort of have the same storyline. Throughout the story Winston’s wanted to gain knowledge of the past and did things against the party and big brother. At the end of the story as he gets caught and tortured he realizes its not worth it and he wishes to have his old life back. The song address just that in the chorus “I miss the days when life was simple, but if I never tried to follow that rainbow in search of the pot of gold,”.

Kim Jong Il said he is thinking about dropping their ways and following Americas. “I can see that Americas economy and crime rate has gone down due to this twerking,” he said. ”I find that incredibly remarkable.”

Reflection
This year I’ve learned a lot in my British literature class. This class has been like no other class I’ve took, because we’ve talked and leaned about real life subjects instead of boring English stuff. One of the most important thing I learned was how to write a précis. coach. Zoph has done great job teaching it and constantly reminding us of how important it’s going to be in college. We learned what and what not to post on social media websites. I never knew that what you posted on the internet could never be deleted, and that somehow it can always be retrieved. This is more of the teacher then the class but having this class really made me set my priorities and to stop procrastinating when it comes to doing work and turning it in on time. Other classes were easy on when you could turn in assignments and still get a good grade. In coach Zophs class everyday an assignment was late ten points would be taken off and that really taught me to turn my work in on time. If there’s one thing I could suggest that we did differently in the class is not read 984. I honestly think it was just a waste of time because I didn’t learn anything from reading it. I personally liked how we could turn in assignment from schoology, but I think we should have had alternative choices for less fortunate kids who were unable to turn them in at home. One thing I will take away from this class is how to appreciate teachers like coach Zoph. Coach was the first teacher I can honestly say cared about my education, because unlike other teachers who just gave me answers or grades so I could be passing he made me work for my grades. This class really helped me mature as a student and I’m thankful for having it my last semester of high school. I feel like this class really prepped me for college.
