Shout Out To The Leadership Class
A letter from Ms. Pearson
I was excited to get to go up and help judge the McMinnville Speech and Debate tournament last week, their first live and in-person tournament in two whole years! The kids were all so excited to go up, and you could just feel the energy when we got to the high school Saturday morning.
The kids did amazing, and when they found Mr. Curtis and me after each round, they were quick to say how well they felt they had done. They were confident in their pieces and it showed, with nearly every student making it to the final rounds!
The final results were:
Open Ads: Hallie Minkler 2nd place, Riley Cook 3rd place.
Open Duo Kenny and Felicia McMillen 3rd place.
Open Extemp Kenny McMillen 3rd place.
Open Hi Daniel Cabrera 1st place.
Open Impromptu Tristan Radcliffe Finalist, Riley Cook Finalist.
Open Inform Maddie Pahls 1st place.
Open Poetry Maya Tulles finalist.
Open Poi Hallie Minkler 1st place.
Open DI Tristan Radcliffe Finalist, Ben Stufflebeam Finalist, Daniel Cabrera 2nd place.
The kids will be competing in a live virtual event this weekend, February 18th and 19th. This will be followed by another live and in-person event in Medford on March 12th and 13th - where they will be competing to make it to Nationals in June!
