Do you want to know one way to change the world? Girl Rising spotlights the stories of some unforgettable girls that were born into poverty. The documentary protrays their dreams, voices, and their remarkable lives as they fight for their right to an education. This documentary describes how powerful right to an education can be. This documentary shows that by educating one girl at a time, you can change the world. Come and join us at the screening of Girl Rising. The documentary screening will be followed by a discussion lead by Matthew Hornbeck and Roxy Neely Hornbeck. Both Matthew Hornbeck and Roxy Neely Hornbeck are from the Quiet Organization. The Quiet organization is a multi-disciplinary arts community engaging in social change and personal transformation through meaningful expression of intentional art. Matthew Hornbeck is a Sociology instructor at Cascadia Community College and Seattle Central Community College. Roxy Neely Hornbeck is one of the founding members of the Quiet organization and is an English and Humanities instructor at Seattle Central Community College. Light refreshments will also be served.
