Holy Name of Mary Catholic School

A Time to Give Thanks

Fall is a great time to reflect on how God, our Creator, made our world so beautiful. The leaves that adorn the trees remind us to appreciate and take care of our world and those around us. At Holy Name of Mary this year, students are being challenged to take care of and be nice to one another.

Several students in our school community have a potentially life-threatening allergy (anaphylaxis) to foods, predominantly to peanuts and tree nuts (e.g. almond, cashew, hazelnut, pistachio).

We feel the best way to reduce the risk of accidental exposure to these students is to respectfully ask for the co-operation of the parents/guardians within our school community to avoid sending any peanut butter or products containing peanuts or tree nuts listed in the ingredients. WOWBUTTER may be brought to school if the stickers which accompany the product are placed on the sandwich or container wrapping.

We realize it has been past practice in the school to allow some classrooms to have peanut products, however with shared classrooms and students going to various classrooms for lunch, it has become almost impossible to provide our anaphylactic students with a peanut safe space. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to call Mrs. LaBelle at the school.

Orange & Black Day

Halloween is always a much-anticipated time of year for many families and children. Although we can appreciate the excitement around wearing costumes to school, please do not send your son or daughter with costumes. Instead, we will be having ORANGE and BLACK day on October 31st .
