St. Mike's Matters - Thursday Notes
October 19th, 2017 Issue #7
Dear St. Michael Families,
Thank you for joining us for our Super Spartan Family Night this past Saturday. What a wonderful night of stewardship, fun, and spectacular costumes. As a judge of the costume contest, it was extremely difficult to select our winners given how many “super heroes” were in attendance! It was a blessing to witness the many ways that you and your children reflected your school spirit on Saturday through your attendance, your costumes, and the generous giving of your time, talent and treasure. Through your generosity we were able to reach our Fund-a-Need goal, which enables us to purchase 30 iPads and a special charging cart for this new set - WOW! A very special thanks goes to our S.M.A.R.T. Family Night co-chairs Michelle Newlean and Alysha Myers, and all of our parent volunteers, for the amazing gift of their energy, vision, and dedication. What a super team!
If you did not have a chance to pick up your child’s Super Spartan photograph, you may still do so by stopping by the school office. This beautiful keepsake displays your child’s smiling face and their unique “super power”! The cost is:
$20 per child
$50 for families of 3+
The pictures also come with a Super Spartan bag (while supplies last).
We look forward to partnering with you at conferences next week. Our students are blessed to attend a school with such a strong spirit of collaboration between teachers, students, and parents. Thank you for taking the time to meet with us to discuss the progress of your children and to plan for their ongoing growth throughout this year. Parents of students in grades 2-8 will be receiving your child’s MAP scores at the conferences and then reviewing the results with our teachers.
Blessings,
Connor Geraghty
Principal

Scrip - DONUT CONTEST
The scrip sales are up but we still haven’t reached our goal of full participation in the monthly Scrip Club, and our office sales are below where they need to be to fund and subsidize various activities throughout the school year (including Field Trips).
In order to help spur sales, we are going to have a contest! At the end of November, the classroom that has the most Scrip Club participation will win a donut party. In order to make things fair, families that join (or have already joined) will receive a point for each of their children’s classrooms.
